What is the Monastery Academy?
In ways that we do not yet fully understand, The Monastery Academy is aligned with an ancient tradition of centers of aliveness and coherence which mysteriously emerge during times of civilizational collapse. At least part of our purpose is to ensure that what is most sacred and precious about the human species is not lost but can flourish far into the future, in conscious partnership with the community of life on this living planet.
Historically, such centers—islands of sanity in a world gone mad—have been repositories of ancient wisdom, preservers of revered works of art and sacred texts, as well as home to mystics, scholars, teachers, and seekers. They have also provided a generative environment for respite from the world, for healing from cultural trauma, and for deep study and contemplation.
Our work at The Monastery Academy is fundamentally spiritual but not religious, and is thoroughly grounded in the practical challenges of physical life on earth.
Launched originally as 'The Monastery' in May 2020, we are deepening our focus in the realm of education, providing training, support and needed perspective through our content and emerging online school, The Fellowship.
In many ways, we consider The Monastery Academy as simply the vehicle for reaching those people who are responding to the fundamental, evolutionary impulse at this time, and incubating an environment which can nurture, support and reveal each of our gifts.
Where this process is leading us is towards co-creation: a continual process of discovery and creativity that enables us to respond to the greatest crises in human history. Here we are learning to weave the pathways of healing which will nurture, preserve and enhance what is most sacred to humanity, as we come to consciously embody align with the direction and movement of the evolution of the universe itself.
